Unsatisfied with windows from the top three manufacturers that all fail in extreme environments such as sustained 80 mph winds, regular multi-week bouts of -12 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures, horizontal blowing snow and the UV exposure found at 10,500 feet we set out to make our own windows. These windows are Passivhaus (PHI) certified, beyond all existing LEED categories or criteria, and when built with exotic hardwoods are unmatched in beauty by any off the shelf product. Comparisons quickly become absurd. Windows either tilt inward from the top 10 degrees for fresh air and safety or turn open to 120 degrees from the side earning them the name ‘tilt and turn windows’.
